PROGRAMS

Diversity Inclusion Values Action holds monthly meetings on an array of topics. Most programs are led by passionate members of Utah’s community. Their first event was held in June of 2020 and it focused on How to be an Authentic Ally & Stand in Solidarity with the Black Community. D.I.V.A.’s founder, Jenessa Jimoh, received many texts and calls from her peers asking what they can do in the wake of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor protests in summer of 2020. Jenessa decided that her first event would address what it means to be a real ally to BIPOC communities. This event had guest speakers from multiple backgrounds and expanded on how different ethnic groups can support the Black community during such unfathomable times. D.I.V.A.’s conversations are always intersectional and bring in people from as many perspectives as possible to strengthen understanding from all angles.
