Averiel Bailey

Grant Writer Intern

Averiel Bailey is a welcomed member of D.I.V.A, working as our Grant Writer Intern. Averiel is a graduate from the University of Utah earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communications, with a minor in Philosophy. Averiel currently works full time as the Senior Development Manager at American Cancer Society.  She has three years of work experience in the nonprofit sector and plans to continue building her career to impact missions that align with her values. Averiel is passionate about supporting D.I.V.A’s mission because she believes in providing advocacy for people’s voices to be heard in every space. Averiel prides herself on having an inclusive character that allows for others to be brave while sharing their diverse perspectives.

Mariam Dickerson

Content Creation Coordination

Mariam Dickerson (she/they) is an artist and advocate with an emphasis on community building and high powered communication. She is passionate about people and problem solving. Mariam is excited to join DIVA because she loves diversifying her community and hearing from multiple different perspectives.

Sheila Hernandez Salazar

Marketing Coordinator

Sheila Hernandez Salazar (she/her/ella) is a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University double majoring in political science and Spanish. A daughter of immigrant parents and a West Side SLC baby, Sheila is excited to represent and advocate for her community. She is excited to join DIVA because she will continuously unlearn patriarchal norms and apply that in her life.

Shei’s office hours are T Th 2pm-6pm and W F 3pm-7pm

Lewis Figun Westbrook

Multimedia Coordinator

Lewis Figun Westbrook (he/they) will always prefer their bio to be some kind of joke but now they actually have accomplishments to talk about. They are a queer writer of too many genres and artist of too many things. He is currently published a horror anthology and some online magazines. One of their biggest passion is media representation and accessibility in communication.

Lewis’ office hours are Th 5-7pm
